Come on buyers – go for it!

So the Leavers really won, Brexit is happening. Nobody believed it would happen and it now seems that apart from a view committed Daily Telegraph journalists nobody knows what to do next. Uncertainty, the enemy of the markets, is running amok but at the same time reaction to events seems grossly exaggerated. However, let’s stop talking about all this and discussing the whys and wherefore of a democratic decision.

Sotogrande beach life

Spaniards love the beach and long days and evenings spent there are part of the Andalucian culture. Last weekend, it only needed a sudden change in the weather from a wet, horrible weekend in mid-May to find full beach bars and restaurants (chiringuitos) two weeks later. A Spanish family’s visit to the beach will normally start around noon, so if you want peace and tranquility an early visit will often provide an almost empty beach at a time when the sun is not at its scorching hottest…

Sotogrande, RC44 World Championship

It is great to have a major World Championship sailing event back in Sotogrande. I was involved on the Organization Committee for the 1997 Hobie Cat World Championship in Sotogrande which was deemed to be a great success. I don’t know the first thing about sailing but having been so involved with the Ryder Cup at Valderrama the same year  I suppose they thought my input might be useful. As I write the weather is set fair for this weekend in early May and Sotogrande is expecting a great spectacle.
